DMC's voice has been "broken" for a while now. He didnt participated with rap in CrownRoyal. Maybe cuz of his voice.
I think the reason is cuz he's been to hardcore back in the day that his throat just cant take it annymore.

Sad but true...maybe...please correct me anyone

in Darryl's autobiography, he gets into the medical condition that affected his voice.. it's rare.. usually happening to much older people.. but not due to malt liquor or whatever rumors--

RUN DMC star DARYL McDANIELS is secretly fighting a crippling disability that could cost him his voice.

The MY ADIDAS rapper has discovered he has the neurological disorder spasmodic dysphonia, which causes involuntary spasms of his vocal cords.

McDaniels first noticed his voice problems when RUN DMC recorded their final album CROWN ROYAL, but it took and army of medics and experts to pinpoint what his problem was.

He says, "I'm living with a physical disability that affects my voice. I'm fighting to overcome it, and so I'm letting everybody know what I'm going through. It doesn't have me, I have it."

The condition means McDaniels' voice often becomes little more than an inaudible mumble.

What i want to know is what up with RUN and D? everybody talks about what they are doing solo, but are they still CREW? Back in the day they were never seen apart. Now i never hear REVRUN mention D's name. And if he does he is always talking in the past tense and vise versa with D. I know they are older and have other projects, but i thought they would be cool forever. I thought maybe on runs show D would drop by the house or something. Somebody let me know that my favorite crew still has love for one another.

Spasmodic dysphonia is not limited to old people, it happens pretty much from puberty. The good news is that it's easily treatable. They inject botox into your vocal cords, and after 3-4 days of a whispery voice, you can speak normally for 4-5 months. After that it wears off and you just do it again, with no ill side effects.
