				| I was adopted at age 3 months. I grew up in rural Kansas. I loved sports as a kid...still do. I went to college and earned a degree in physical education. I taught PE for the first part of my career and then advanced into school administration. I have been a high school principal for the past 9 years. I am currently the HS principal at the HS I graduated from in 1987.
I was fortunate to have been adopted by a great family..I had a mother, father, older brother and an older sister. Both of my parents have passed away in the past two years. My brother, sister, and I now had no living parents.

That all changed two weeks ago. I searched my birth mother's name on the web and found a "hit". I called several times and only got an answering machine. Could this really be the woman that brought me into this world?? I was SO nervous to find out.

I called one afternoon, and she answered! I am not sure what I asked...it is all a blur. I asked enough questions to determine that this indeed was my mom. I was so scared...she was shocked as well. I was 38 years old and all of a sudden had a mother again.

As we talked, she told me about her life. I tried to fill her in on my life for the last 38 years. We had a lot of "catching up" to do.

There are some VERY strange coincidences. First off, she is a retired teacher in the Kansas City area...she taught PE her entire career! How weird is that? My birth father (who she never married) is a retired math teacher. My first teaching job was in my birth dad's home town...a town of less than 2,000 people. My mother received her master's degree from the college I got by bachelor's from.

We met a week after I found her. I could not be luckier to have a chance to learn about my mother...I have not had a parent of my own for over a year--until that phone call.

We continue talking and e-mailing. I can't hear enough of her stories...I want everyone I know to meet her. She is thrilled that I found her...she says that she always knew I would find her some day.

This is an awesome story that is only beginning! I remember watching your story on VH1 last year. It was a great story as well. It stirred up so many emotions for me. I have loved your work since my teen years. I went to a concert in KC in 1987..you were with The Beastie Boys. It is still one of the great concerts I have seen

I just wanted to share my story with you. If you have questions, please contact me...that would be a thrill for me as well.
