Culver City, Calif.— RockSTAR Music Education is proud to announce their largest Battle of the Bands competition ever—proof that music belongs in public schools! This rockin’ event has grown so much that it will take place over two days, Sat. June 12th and Sun. June 13th at House of Blues on Sunset. Fans will be blown away by the young talent in this awesome musical showdown, as more than 700 musicians forming over 100 bands, up from 68 bands last year, compete for 8 winning spots and the opportunity to record a CD in a professional studio. And the most unbelievable part is that the contestants range from 6 to 11-years-old, and they can really play!
This year, RockSTAR is pleased to announce that “DMC”, member of the legendary rap group RUN DMC, will both host and perform at the event.
For the last 5 years RockSTAR has been committed to musical mentoring and is very fortunate to have had the support of Rock n' Roll icons, such as: Carlos Santana, Gene Simmons, Slash, Chris Slade, Bret Michaels, Britney Spears, Hoobastank, Colby Cailliat, Miranda Cosgrove, Nick Lachey, Brian McKnight and many more.
As the largest and most successful after-school music rock n’ roll music program in California, RockSTAR Music Education is extremely passionate about re-establishing the presence of music in public elementary schools.

New this year! Now that RockSTAR Music Education has branched out to middle and high schools, they will be showcasing teenaged bands as well.
